Soul Survivor Conference 2016

May 27, 2016 By admin

Most of our GroupApril 13 -16 saw over 200 young people come together at Trinity Christian School for Soul Survivor’s ‘More Than A Song’ Conference.

We were blessed to have 40 Anglican youth from across the Diocese join us on Conference where we were challenged and equipped to live lives devoted to serving God and serving others.

‘It was awesome! God taught me that no matter what, He is always there and that He has chosen everyone for different roles to share and show others how powerful His love is’ – Isabelle.

‘Soul conference was really inspiring and a lot of fun. God taught me, whatever happens – the best way to come to Him is through prayer. It was really inspiring to be with all the other youth from around the region.” – Lily

Rob Shiells‘It was an incredible experience. There were hundreds of teens, lot of amazing worship and talks, lots of food, mind boggling seminars, awesome workshops, cafes, sport events and games room. My favourite event was going out into the community and helping local services. My group went to a childhood community centre and moved loads of sand – cleaned up the garden – planted things and made a difference. We did this because we wanted to spread God’s word and love in our community. Being a leader was great as I ran devotions and mentored younger teens. The whole 5 days was awesome and filled with lots and lots of God (the best thing!) and I can’t wait for 2017.’ – Rob

Please continue to pray that God will take these planted seeds and grow them into deeply rooted trees of faith in our young people!

Come join us next year April 18-22 Soul Conference 2017!

Summer Camps 2016

CampPelSlider2016

100_9901The weather was hot and stormy which made for great beach days and some interesting games in the rain for the 140+ young people and leaders who attended Camp Pelican this summer. A typical day on camp included, amazing meals, crazy, active and relaxing activities and thought provoking worship, teaching and small group times. Highlights include an amazing talent/skit night and our yearly Agape dinner – a special time where leaders example Jesus by preparing and serving an amazing dinner to campers.

Ask any camper about camp and they will tell you that Camp Pelican is a place where they feel safe to be themselves. They tell of the acceptance and genuine love they feel on camp from both leaders and fellow campers. We strive to reflect the love of Jesus though the community we create and challenge young people to think deeply about what it means to follow Jesus.  Our teaching times are part of this but more importantly it is life lived together that leads to faith being shared, nurtured and deepened.

Please partner with us to continue this vital ministry. Please pray for Camp Pelican and Synergy, consider giving financially, support your local young people to attend and consider volunteering for camp or enabling others you know to take part.
